By the term self-awareness, I refer to the awareness of your characteristics, values, and beliefs in all areas of your life. Recognizing who you truly are is the first step toward self-acceptance.

How can you love yourself if you don’t accept yourself? The question “Who am I really?” may sound simple, but it requires self-awareness to answer. It is a question that directly relates to your values, beliefs, and perceptions you have about yourself. These perceptions are also related to your loved ones’ perceptions of you, whether they are true or not. Most of the time, our perceptions are subconscious and only through a personal development process such as Life Coaching can they become conscious.

The greater your self-awareness of your positive characteristics, the greater your self-love grows. A possible obstacle that prevents you from focusing on your positive characteristics may be a tendency toward perfectionism, but you can remind yourself that you cannot be perfect at all levels.
